Abstract

The Tahfidz program is one of the innovative programs used by educators related to the six areas of child development, one of them is the moral and religious aspects. Learning to memorize the Quran aims to introduce the holy book of Islam from an early age. In addition, memorizing the Quran is an effort to accustom children to worship while preserving the Quran. According to Harian Republika (Yuwanto: 2010), the number of the Quran memorizers in the world is quite large and is expected to continue to increase every year. The aims of the study is to investigate the strategies for increasing students’ interest in memorizing short surahs of Quran. Based on the results of the study, there are 11 statements of the tahfidz program are stated to be valid and reliable, and the 14 statements of tahfiz interest are stated valid and reliable as well. The influence of the tahfidz program on interest in memorizing can be seen from the R square value of 0.273 or 27.3% in the range 0.20 – 0.399, it means that there is a low influence of the tahfidz program on the students’ interest in memorizing short surahs in grades IV, V and VI at SDIT Sakinah Pandau Jaya, Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency. In this case it shows that the interest in memorizing is influenced by 27.3% by the tahfidz program while the rest is influenced by other things that are not included in this study. It can also be seen from the results of simple linear regression analysis with a significance value of 0.000, then 0.000 of 0.05 so that the hypothesis value is accepted. The influence of tahfidz program on students’ interest in memorizing short surahs of Quran at SDIT Sakinah Pandau Jaya is 0.273 or 27.3% which is in the range of 0.20-0.399 or in the low category. So, it can be concluded that the influence of tahfidz program on students’ interest in memorizing short surahs of Quran at SDIT Sakinah is 27.3%, while the remaining is influenced by other factors.
