Abstract

ABSTRACT Febrianda Prima Reja, 2022. Students’ Perceptions of Reading Electronic Book at the Fourth Semester Students of FKIP Universitas Islam Riau. English Language Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University Islam Riau. Advisor: Fauzul Etfita,S.Pd.,M.Pd. Electronic Book is a book in the form of a digital version that can be used on a device or computer. It is currently in high demand in education to make learning easier. Researcher is interested in analyzing how the students’ perceptions about reading electronic book. The purpose of the study was to find out the students’ perceptions about reading electronic book at English Language Education FKIP Universitas Islam Riau. The method of this research is qualitative method. The population of this research is the students at the fourth semester of English Language Education FKIP Universitas Islam Riau with the total number of students is 45 students. The sample of this research was selected using purposive sampling technique consisting of 45 students. The data in this study were collected using questionnaire adapted from an article written by Jona Dinita Islami & Silih Warni (2020). The data was collected by using questionnaire which contained three indicators; preferences, effectiveness & flexibility, attitude & method with total of 54 questions. These results can be seen from the result of indicators was classified into “agree” category. Furthermore, the indicators of effectiveness and flexibility and the last variable attitude and method were also categorized into “Agree” So the conclusion of this study was that the second semester students FKIP University Islam Riau had positive perception of reading E-book in their academic life.
