Abstract

This study is motivated by: there are some students who have low learning outcomes at school, there are some students get scores below the target score, there are some students who have difficulty in answering questions during the exam, there are some students who are remedial on each daily test, and there are some students who make a noise in the classroom when the teacher are explaining the lessons. The problem formulation of the study is whether there is an influence of spiritual intelligence on students’ outcomes in learning Islamic Studies in grade VII at MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru. This study aims to investigate the influence of spiritual intelligence on students’ outcomes in learning Islamic Studies in grade VII at MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru. The subject of the study is all students in grade VII at MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru. The population of the study is the students in grade VII at MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru as many as 125 students. The study has two variables, namely Spiritual Intelligence (variable X) and Learning Outcomes (variable Y). The results of the study show that there is an influence of spiritual intelligence on students’ outcomes in learning Islamic Studies in grade VII at MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru. The results of data analysis through simple linear regression statistical tests are known to constanta (a) of 2.009, which means as a consistent value of the spiritual intelligence, while the value of students’ learning outcomes (b/coefficient) is 0.328. The regression coefficient is positive, it means that there is a significant influence of spiritual intelligence (variable X) on learning outcomes (variable Y). The magnitude of the level of influence between variable X (Spiritual Intelligence) and variable Y (Learning Outcomes) is 0.670 or 67% or included in the range 0.60-0.799 with a strong category, while 33% of learning outcomes are influenced by other variables which are not examined in this study. In conclusion, the influence of spiritual intelligence on students’ outcomes in learning Islamic Studies in grade VII at MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru is categorized as "strong".
