Abstract
Produced water waste contains toxic and dangerous pollutants. The waste comes from exploration and production activities, the production water used in this study initially contained TDS 5240 ppm, turbidity 57 NTU, oil content 9 ppm and pH 7.5. These TDS and turbidity parameter values do not meet the quality standards of wastewater so they need to be treated before being discharged into the environment or injected into the reservoir. One of the alternatives for wastewater treatment is the filtration and adsorption methods. Coal activated carbon, nut shell pecan and silica are one of the filtration media that can be used because of their adsorption properties. Comparing the effectiveness of coal activated carbon, pecan nut shell and the combination of coal activated carbon and pecan nut shell and silica sand in order to find out which is the most effective as a filtration medium. The research method used was experimental research and the results showed that the pecan nut filtration media were TDS 998 ppm, turbidity 13 NTU, oil content 9 ppm and pH 8.01. And coal activated carbon was TDS 1810 ppm, turbidity 4.31 NTU, oil. content 7 ppm and pH 8.28 and the combination is TDS 1325 ppm, turbidity 14.5 NTU, oil content 9 ppm and pH 8.52. The efficiency of the best produced wastewater treatment equipment is to use coal activated carbon media which affects Oil content, turbidity, TDS dan pH.
