Abstract
Food Safety is an important issue to solve because it has an impact on public health in Indonesia. Food safety seupervision is carried out by the government to obtain food that is safe for consumption and to guarantee consummer rights. This study discusses the supervision of fresh food safety carried out by the Pekanbaru City Food Security Service. This study aims to find out how the implementation of food safety supervision carried out by the Food Security Service against farmer groups in Pekanbaru City. This type of research uses sescriptive quantitative methods, with the most dominant number of respondents being female with a total of 71%. In this study the author uses the Implementation theory proposed by Richard Matland whhich has ‘’four points’’ namely Policy Accuracy, Impelemntation Accuracy, Target Accuracy and Enviromental Accuracy. The results of this study indicate that the use of hazardous chemicals in agricultural commodities circulating in Pekanbaru City indicates the need for a fresh food inspection laboratory at the Pekanbaru City Food Security Service, and there is still a lack of awareness anda knowledge of farmers/communities on the importance of food safety. Therefore, it is necessary to disseminate information to provide deeper information and guidance on the importance of monitoring the safety of fresh food to farmers and the people of Pekanbaru City.
