Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine: (1) student learning motivation in online learning for class IX students at junior high school 3 Tualang Siak for the Academic Year 2021/2022, (2) learning outcomes in science for class IX students at junior high school 3 Tualang Siak for the Academic Year 2021/2022, and (3) the relationship between learning motivation and science results for grade IX students of junior high school 3 Tualang Siak for the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is a quantitative research using a correlational approach. The population of the study was grade IX students of junior high school 3 Tualang Siak which consisted of 9 classes. The sample of this study amounted to 165 students, the sampling technique in this study used proportional random sampling technique. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Of the 33 items tested, there are 29 items that are valid with a reliability value of 0.881. Data analysis in this study used the Pearson Product Moment (PPM) correlation analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the average value of the learning motivation of class IX students at junior gigh school 3 Tualang Siak is 72,43 with a good category, (2) the average science learning outcomes of class IX students at junior high school 3 Tualang Siak is 76. .5 with sufficient category, and (3) between variable X (Learning Motivation) and Y variable (Learning Outcomes) there is a low correlation with a correlation index (rxy) of 0.36 and the contribution of learning motivation to science learning outcomes is 13%. This is also evidenced by the magnitude of the tcount value rather than the ttable value or 4.9 > 1.97 which means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, and a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05 means that there is a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and students' science learning outcomes.
