Abstract
Around 1970 asphalt pavement was started using a hot mix asphalt (hot mix) in Indonesia. In resurfacing or constructing of new roads, even in working on construction of section 2A of the Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road (minas-kandis) starting from STA 24 + 200- STA 33 + 600, it uses the Laston mixture type which is watertight, structural, durable, and has approximately 4-7% asphalt content against weight of the mixture. The aggregate usually used generally has a dense gradation and small air space between the aggregates. It requires little asphalt and high temperatures that enable good mixing. Therefore, the hot asphalt mixture material must be spread out and compacted before the mixture temperature drops from 85 ℃. With regard to the case above, this study aims at obtaining the value of the volume requirements of the material at each layer, and the writer will also calculate not only the volume of the prime coat and tack coat, but also the loose factor of the in the vast field. This study used the calculation method in calculating the volume, and this research was guided by the general specification Bina Marga 2018, Devision 6: 5.13% optimum asphalt content of AC-Base, 5.56% AC-BC, and 6.10% AC-WC obtained from the Job Mix Formula. The results showed that the total mixing volume of the AC-Base, AC-BC, and AC-WC mixture was 42.361,686 tons, 32.904,774 tons, 21.965,054 tons. The volume of AC-Base, AC-BC, AC-WC Asphalt was 2.173,154 tons, 1.829,505 tons, 1.339,868 tons. Aggregate Volume AC-Base, AC-BC, AC-WC is 39.807,276 tons, 30.782,416 tons, 20.413,893. the results of the analysis of AMP sample testing where there was a deviation between the optimum asphalt content and the AMP asphalt content was 0,06%, 0,03%, and 0,04%. Furthermore, the result of Prime Coat Volume was 237.820 liters, and and tack Coat Volume was 35.673 liters. Also, it was found that the floose factor at the AC-Base Layer> is than Loose factor on the AC-BC Layer. Loose factor on the AC-BC Layer > than the loose factor on the AC-WC Layer with a value of 1,6 cm> 1,3 cm> 1 cm. So it can be concluded that the higher the volume requirement of the material. the greater the asphalt content and aggregate caused of gradation in each layer that has different gradations, and the asphalt content value in each layer can be seen that the asphalt mixing plant content is smaller than the optimum asphalt content (KAO), but each layer still meets the asphalt content minimum required which is ± 0,3% on the weight of the mixture in the spesifikasi umum (general specifications) of Highways 2018, Division 6.
