Abstract
The Steam Power Plant (PLTU) itself has equipment that supports the operation of the steam turbine and is related to the generator, including the condenser. The condenser is a type of heat exchanger that serves to condense the used steam from the turbine or working fluid. The process that occurs is the process of heat transfer between the cooling fluid that is passed in the pipes (tubes) then steam from the low pressure turbine (cooled fluid) flows outside the pipes. This study aims to determine the effect of vacuum pressure on heat transfer rate and effectiveness in the condenser, to determine the effect of vacuum pressure on the condenser. The research uses 3 methods namely, literature study method, field observation method and interview method, the results of the analysis of data calculations show the higher the Vacuum Pressure of (-87,73) KPa the higher the Heat Transfer Rate of 47,83 MW and the higher the Vacuum Pressure of (87,73) KPa with the higher effectiveness of 0.9969.
