Abstract
Field Langgak production in 2017 was 439 BOPD. However, based on data on oil production in 2020, the Langgak field continues to decline. This can be caused by the condition of old wells and high water cut (>90%). In addition, the characteristics of the Langgak field rock are sandstone where >50% of the reservoir sandstone is oil-wet, and this condition is not expected, because there is still a large amount of oil left in the reservoir. Surfactant injection is one of the efforts that can be done to change the porous matrix from oil wet to water wet. This study aims to determine the type of surfactant that is suitable for injection in the Langgak field in order to increase productivity in the field. The results of the study conducted at PSP3MB regarding the compatibility test and phase behavior test obtained 2 surfactants that can be continued for chemical EOR screening, namely MES and SI surfactants. The contact angle values obtained were at concentrations of MES surfactants (0.5%, 2% and 3%) at 30.000 ppm salinity after 14 days of observation (81.86°, 52.66°, 30.05°), and at 40.000 ppm salinity (98.67°, 54.44°, 36.72°). Meanwhile, the contact angle values obtained were at concentrations of SI surfactants (0.5%, 2% and 3%) at 60.000 ppm salinity (54.17°, 36.26°, 43.28°), and at 70.000 ppm salinity (65.34°, 48.36°, 48°).
