Abstract
In concrete construction, damage often occurs such as small cracks which makes the quality of the concrete decrease. This damage is caused by errors in planning, implementation, and the influence of environmental factors. One method to repair these cracks is to use a bacterium that is mixed into the concrete mix, these bacteria can make the cracks in the concrete close again. This research was conducted to find out the effect of adding zeolite and bacteria from vegetable waste extract on self-healing concrete. The method used in this research is experimental. In the preliminary test, the test is compressive strength with zeolite added as a partial cement substitution and while the main test is self-healing concrete, in the concrete that has been added vegetable waste extract by mixing it into the concrete mix. This research was conducted with a cube of 15 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm as many as 27 specimens with variations in the percentage of vegetable waste extract 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8% as a substitute for cement. Concrete testing was carried out at 28 days of treatment for compressive strength tests and testing of concrete after cracking. Based on the analysis of the compressive strength of concrete with mineral zeolite added with self-healing concrete method on concrete without vegetable waste extract aged 28 days was 31.00 MPa, 2% variation was 27.04 MPa decreased 12.79%, 4% variation was 26.09 MPa with a decrease of 15.86%, variation of 6% is 23.82 MPa with a decrease of 23.16%, and variation of 8% is 20.52 MPa with a decrease of 33.83% compared to normal concrete (without vegetable waste extract). ). The compressive strength of concrete after cracking with 2% extract variation was 28.46 MPa decreased 8.22%, 4% variation was 31.05 MPa with 0.14% increase, 6% variation was 25.52 MPa with 17.68 decrease %, and the variation of 8% is 24.55 MPa with a decrease of 20.83% compared to normal concrete (without vegetable waste extract). The results of the restoration of concrete cracks were seen visually, fine cracks in concrete were closed, but in larger cracks the closure was not perfect. Crack closure in concrete is caused by vegetable waste extracts and zeolite which produce CaCO3 or lime. It can be concluded that the more calcium carbonate in the concrete, the greater the compressive strength produced
