Abstract

As the final assignment research with the title of "Analysis of the Design of Onion Slicer System Using a 12 Volt DC Motor" this design purpose is to obtain an onion slicing machine. To get the amount of production from the onion slicing process, the design process of onion slicer is carried out in several stages, namely design, task explanation or function and product concept design (working drawings). The technical analysis includes an analysis of power and speed that occurs on the shaft. The driving force of the onion slicer is projected to use a DC electric motor that is adapted to the battery power capability for UKM which is estimated to average around 86,4 Watts. The results of the design of an onion slicer with a production capacity of 24 kg / hour, and the dimensions of the engine length 410 mm x width 241 mm x height 168 mm, using dc power of 0.20 HP 4450 rpm, and the framework to use a blockboard with a thickness of 15 mm. The performance test result shows that the machine works quite well with fast slicing in large quantities.
