Abstract

In Riau, the number of students is 141,525 people. Final year students have the task of completing the thesis as a condition for graduation, in completing the thesis there are many obstacles faced. These obstacles cause students to experience stress. Barriers like this cause students to experience stress. Stress can also be influenced by the presence or absence of peer social support in the implementation or completion of the thesis thesis. The purpose of the study was whether or not there was an influence of peer social support on stress in students who were working on their final project. The data collection method uses a stress scale and social support that has been modified from the scale compiled by Rohmah (2017) by reducing items on the stress scale by 7 items out of 24 items, and the peer social support scale reducing items by 2 items out of 32. items, as well as adding and subtracting words or peritem language. The sample in this study were students in the city of Pekanbaru as many as 100 people. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Data analysis method used is normality test, linearity and regression analysis. The results of the data analysis that have been obtained are the r coefficient (pearson correlation) of 0.172, the calculated F value (2,985) < F table (3.94) and the probability with a value (0.087 > 0.05) which means that there is no influence between peer social support to stress on students who are working on their final project.
