Abstract
The use of foam agents in the manufacture of foam mortar has been widely applied to road and bridge construction. Construction of Kuala Sei. Akar bridge oprit work is used synthetic foam agent. Foam mortar is a type of concrete made from cement, water, sand, and foam agent. Foam mortar has certain specifications for its constituent material in order to achieve a certain planned compressive strength. The material must be able to make the foam mortar reach the specified strength and not increase its own weight of foam mortar. This study aims to determine the compressive strength of foam mortar using synthetic foam agents and vegetable foam agents with percentages of 75% and 80% for each type of foam agent and to determine the effect of using synthetic foam agents and vegetable foam agents on foam mortar. The method used in this study is a laboratory experimental method. The results of testing the compressive strength of foam mortar using synthetic and vegetable foam agents with percentages of 75% and 80% can be seen that the addition of vegetable foam agents at variations in age 7, 14, and 21 days produces a greater compressive strength than the use of synthetic foaming agent. The effect of using a foam agent in this study is that the more foam agent used, the lighter the weight of the mixture and the higher the flow value and pore number. In this study, vegetable foam agents produced higher density and flow value than synthetic foam agents.
