Abstract

Peat soil is categorized as soft soil which means the soil is in a bad condition and problematic if a construction will be built on it. The peat soil used in this study was taken from Buana Makmur Village Km 55 Dayun District of Siak Regency, Riau. This study aims to find out the influence of mixed variations in the form of cement, lime and tire ash as a material for stabilization in peat soils and the most optimal CBR value in peat soil after stabilization using mixed variations. Soil stabilization method is one of the ways that is often used to improve the condition of native soil by strongly supporting less good soil for the better. Strong value supports on good soil > 6%. The mixed variations used are cement 5%, lime 5% and tire ash 5%, 7.5%, 10% with a time of watering and soaking 1 day and 4 days. Based on the results of CBR value testing conducted on native land with 1 day and 4 days of expansion, CBR values were obtained by 2.87% and 3.82%, while in immersion conditions of 1 day and 4 days obtained CBR values of 2.53% and 2.39%.CBR values on mixed soil are most optimal in 1-day watering conditions with variations of 5% tire ash 5% cement 5% lime by 4.04%, while CBR values on mixed soil are most optimal in 4 day watering conditions with a variation of 5% tire ash 5% cement 5% lime by 4.63%. Mixed variation of 5% tire ash 5% cement 5% lime with a CBR value of 3.67%, being the most optimal in mixed soil with 4 day soaking conditions, and for optimum values on mixed soil with 4 day immersion conditions is found at a variation of 5% tire ash 5% cement 5% lime with a CBR value of 3.83%. The addition of variations in cement, lime and tire ash can increase the value of CBR in peat soil by watering and immersion, but the CBR value obtained in this study did not increase significantly.
