Abstract

Buildings are erected using concrete as the main material in a construction. Thus, concrete is almost used in every aspect of civil engineering science. In various areas many factors that can damage or make the quality of concrete reduced for example from natural factors such as earthquakes that can create cracks in concrete that can cause reduced concrete strength and require extra maintenance to overcome it. One method to increase the strong press of concrete is to add a certain addictive substance that can improve the ability or quality of concrete. This study was to find out the effect of the addition of addictive substances on strong press concrete and the addition of vegetable waste extract on the self healing concrete method to self-recovery from cracks that occur. The method carried out in this study is experimental, in this preliminary testing study is a strong test of concrete press with a material added 1% Bestmittel Concrete Additive and while in the main test is a test of self healing concrete concrete that has been added bacteria from vegetable waste extract by mixing the bacteria into concrete complaints to see the ability of concrete in recovering. from the cracks. This study was conducted with cube-shaped test objects with a size of 15 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm as many as 27 test objects with variations in the percentage of bacteria 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9% instead of cement with a variation of 3 samples per percentage of test objects. Concrete is planned for 28 days with a sample test in the form of a strong compressive test and a recovery test against cracks. Based on the results of the analysis, the strong press concrete self healing concrete method with the use of 1% bestmittel concrete testing age 28 days with concrete after cracking the maximum value is obtained at a variation of 5% with a strong value of initial press 24.03 MPa and has increased to 10.01% with a strong value of 34.04 MPa. From observations visually show cracks in the concrete undergo changes that are not very visible. Cracks in the concrete slowly close the cracks in the concrete over the treatment time.
