Abstract

This research was motivated by the phenomenon at religion ministry zone about Profession zakat problem. The phenomenon happened because some employee did not want to participate in collecting profession zakat that from employee payroll deduction. Even though, religion ministry had duty to organize government affairs in religion filed to help president in organizing country. Meanwhile, zakat was a part from religion that must be had attention to reach zakat goal and helped government to reduce the poor citizen and other zakat usage.this research was descriptive in order to know how employee perception at religion ministry office Pekanbaru city. The data used was primer and secondary data. data primer collection used questionnaire spreading to employees religion ministry Pekanbaru city and also interview to head section that manage UPZ religion ministry office Pekanbaru city. Meanwhile, secondary data got from books, literature, internet, and others media. Data analysis method used descriptive statistic where data display used table, graphic, circle diagram, and percentage that was described in this research. The population in this research was 244 moslem employees at religion ministry office Pekanbaru city and the sample was 70 employees. From 70 respondents, 28.20% stated very agree, 51.91% stated agree, 16.35% stated neutral, 3.40% stated did not agree, and 0.14% stated very disagree. This research finding showed that employees at religion ministry office Pekanbaru city “did not agree� with circular letter of religion ministry office Pekanbaru city about profession zakat.
