Abstract

This study has a research objective, namely to find out in depth about self-control in adolescents who are fans of k-pop (k-popers). This study uses qualitative research methods, and the selection of subjects using purposive sampling technique. The data collection method used is the interview and observation method. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The research results obtained are: 1). Both informants have poor behavioral control, plus both informants also have a consumptive attitude towards their idol goods. 2). Both informants have a fairly high cognitive control where both subjects are able to sort out the information circulating about their idols. 3). Both informants were able to make a decision whether they participated in the fanwar or not, but both chose not to participate in the fanwar and were on the neutral side. 4). From the results of the social media survey, the two informants rarely post anything related to their idols, but both are still active in following their idol's social media accounts.
