Abstract

The Pekanbaru Tribune newspaper, which is a regional newspaper that has been operating since 1991 until now, still found errors or language errors in the editorial writing, so that result in meaning ineffectiveness. There is an error in the language of the letter news, will affect the language process in society. Formulation of the problem In this study, how are the language errors at the syntactic level? sentence fields contained in the editorial of the Pekanbaru Tribune newspaper?. The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze, interpret, and conclude language errors at the syntactic level sentence fields contained in the editorial of the Pekanbaru Tribune newspaper. Theory used in this study is (H. G. Tarigan 2011). Method this research is descriptive method. From the results of data processing related to Analysis of Syntax Language Errors in Newspaper Editorial The Pekanbaru Tribune is known that the sentence in the sentence does not have a subject as many as 6 pieces of data. Unpredicated Sentences as much as 1 piece of data. Sentence No Subject and No Predicate (Buntu Sentence) as much as 2 pieces of data. Doubling the subject as much as 3 pieces of data. Between the predicate and the object inserted 3 pieces of data. Excessive use of conjunctions as much as 2 pieces of data. Sequence that is not parallel as much as 1 piece of data. Use of the term foreign as many as 4 pieces of data. The use of question words that do not need as much as 2 data pieces.
