Abstract
This study aims to analyze the use of science / biology laboratory infrastructure facilities in the learning process at SMP Negeri 2 and SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru for the 2017/2018 academic year as well as the carrying capacity of laboratory infrastructure and laboratory management. This research is a survey research with descriptive quantitative analysis. Respondents in this study amounted to 147 respondents consisting of science teachers, science laboratory managers and class VIII students. The research data were collected through questionnaires, observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The data from this study were analyzed using the percentage formula. The results of this descriptive study indicate that the utilization of science laboratory infrastructure at SMP Negeri 2 and SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru is in the quite effective category. Utilization of the science laboratory at SMP Negeri 2 was 64.1%, the utilization of the science laboratory at SMP Negeri 18 was in the quite effective category as well, namely 66.1%. 2). Meanwhile, the facilities and infrastructure in the science laboratory room have met the minimum standards, SMP Negeri 2 (74.35%) SMP Negeri 18 (72.9%). Conclusion Based on the results of processing and analysis of research data that have been described, it can be concluded that the analysis of the use of science laboratory infrastructure facilities in the learning process at SMP Negeri 2 and SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru in the 2017/2018 academic year is categorized as Effective with a percentage value of 74.12%. Data on the carrying capacity of science laboratory infrastructure facilities are categorized as standard with a percentage value of 73.6%.
