Abstract
Oil and gas fields that have been producing continuously have resulted in a decrease in the production flow rate and a decrease in reservoir pressure. Therefore, it is necessary to apply waterflood or water injection. Water injection has the aim of increasing oil recovery in production wells. The main key to success in waterflood work lies in the planning, implementation and monitoring program of the well. One of the parameters that affect the water injection process is the relative permeability. The relationship between relative permeability and water saturation can indicate whether the reservoir rock is water wet or oil wet. This property can be seen from the intersection of the oil permeability curve and the water permeability curve. The difference between water wet and oil wet can affect the performance of water injection which can be seen from the Hall Plot curve profile and VRR (Voidage Replacement Ratio). Through this research, the effect of rock wetness (water wet and oil wet) on water injection performance will be observed. This study uses a simulation method using a hypothetical field model. This simulation uses CMG (Computer Modeling Group) software by utilizing existing data in the Limuno Field. The data obtained from the modeling is processed using excel calculations to see how it affects the Hall Plot and VRR curves. The results of the Hall Plot and VRR curve analysis show that there are differences in water injection performance for water wet and oil wet reservoirs, where this difference can be clearly seen in Limuno I-1. These oil wet and water wet conditions also affect the VRR curve profile. In the Limuno P-2 and P-5 wells, the tendency is stable, which has a value of VRR >1, this means that the injection rate is optimal in that well and production optimization has been carried out. This is because the P-2 and P-5 wells are located far from the injection wells.
