Abstract
The study aims to improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII Students of SMP Widya Graha Pekanbaru through the implementation of an active learning type Numbered Heands Together (NHT). The research subjects consisted of class VIII students totaling 20 people consisting of 11 male students and 9 femele students. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles. The data collection instruments consist of observation sheets and learning result test sheets that have been analyzed. Furthermore, the data analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive data analysis with qualitative data analysis and analysis quantitative data. Based on the observation sheet at each meeting, it shows that there is an improvement in the learning process from the fist meeting in cycle I to the last meeting in cycle II. Furthermore, from student learning outcomes, there was an increase in the number of students who reached the KKM on the basic score, namely 7 students or 35%, while the I results were 9 students or 45% and the second daily test was 13 students or 65%. Based on the average student learning outcomes at a basic score of 52,65, daily test I was 58,45 and daily test II was 71,1. So it can be concluded that the implementation of the active learning type Numbered Heands Together (NHT) can improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of grave VIII students of SMP Widya Graha Pekanbaru.
