Abstract
Well X in field Z is a vertical well that was originally produced using artificial lift pump, but after a while of production, the previously installed pump is no longer efficient in X well, where the installed pump often experiences problems in operation, due to it’s status. pumps often experience underload (the fluid does not support the design than the pump flow rate) or in other words the fluid entering the well is smaller than the fluid pumped out of the well, to overcome this it is necessary to redesign the pump to determine the type of pump according to the flow rate in the well so that the well can produce optimally. The calculation is done by evaluating the installed PCP pump, whether the design is suitable beforehand. From the results of the study, it is found that the type of pump that is suitable for the flow rate and depth of the fluid level in the X well is the type 20-H-200. With the oil production in X well with the PCP pump type 20-H-200, the production has changed from the initial average, while oil production increased from 31 BOPD to 53 BOPD, this means the PCP pump design as a replacement for the pump previously installed in the X well is appropriate.
