Abstract

The background in this research was started by the cognitive learning outcome problem happened to several students in learning Aqidah Akhlak at Islamic Senior High School Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. One of the problems which happened to some students that they were not understanding well about the content explained by teacher, they are difficult to get the point of lesson, they did not apply the akhlak lesson and he was not able to analyze the lesson. Necessarily, students should understand the lesson of Aqidah Akhlak. The purpose in this research was to know the influence of memorizing on cognitive learning outcome in Aqidah Akhlak grade XI at Islamic Senior High School Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. This research used quantitative research with correlational approach. The population and sample in this research consisted of 71 students. The data collection used questionnaire, test and documentation. This research consisted of two variables, X (Memorizing) and Y (cognitive learning outcome). In analyzing the result of hypothesis test, the significant score p = 0,013 <0,0, it could be explained that there was an influence of memorizing on student’s cognitive learning outcome at Islamic Senior High School Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. The amount of influence could be seen on the summary table with R Square score around 0,636 or 63,6%. It showed that cognitive learning outcome influenced by memorizing around 63,6% with strong criterion. It could be concluded that from the research findings that there was an influence of memorizing on student’s cognitive learning outcome in Aqidah Akhlak Subject at Islamic Senior High School Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru.
