Abstract

Evaluation of volumetric efficiency is intended to control the production of wells in a field to determine the cause of production decline. The decrease in pressure and the presence of problems in the well can cause low volumetric efficiency of the pump which results in a decrease in production rate. Thus, it is necessary to change the operating conditions of the pump to increase the production rate. The ability of a well to produce can be determined by calculating the productivity of the well using the IPR curve based on actual data in the field. Optimization can be done by using Nodal Analysis (Pump Intake Curve) method. By changing the Stroke Length (S) and Stroke Per Minute (N). Currently the ZB#003 well uses a Hydraulic Pumping Unit to produce oil from the surface reservoir. The results of the evaluation of the volumetric efficiency (Ev) of the installed pump from well ZB#003 is 56% and well ZRD#154 is 86%. The results of the evaluation of the ability of the wells based on the IPR curve of the wells obtained Qmax from each well, namely: ZB#003 = 91.94 BFPD and ZRD#154 = 264.15 BFPD. After optimization on well ZB#003, the production rate (Qt) increased from 60 BFPD to 75 BFPD, volumetric efficiency (Ev) increased from 56% to 117%. In the ZRD#154 well, there is no need for optimization because the pump ability is still very good, namely 86% with a production rate of 215 BFPD.
