Abstract

The problem raised in this thesis is how the form of the song Zapin Sahabat Laila version of S. Berrein. SR. in Siak Regency, Riau Province. The song Zapin Sahabat Laila is a song that functions to accompany the Zapin Dance, in zapin music there are stringed instruments and marwas. The song Zapin Friends of Laila is syringe in the Zapin Tradition competition. It is not uncommon for the Sahabat Laila song to be played to accompany the Zapin Dance in big performances. This study aims to identify the form of the song Zapin Sahabat Laila version of S. Berrein. SR. in Siak Regency, Riau Province. The theory used to analyze the form of the song is the theory by Karl Edmund Prier, namely 1) motive, 2) phrases, 3) periods or sentences 4) Kadens, and 5) Themes. furthermore supported by the theory of Schneck, DJ & Berger, DS. The research method uses descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach. The result of this research is the song Sahabat Laila version of S. Berrein. SR is a 2 part song consisting of part A and part B and is played on a natural scale (C = DO). The song has a 4/4 initial mark using a moderato tempo. In Theme A the Sahabat Laila song has 2 pieces of question and answer sentences, and has 5 motifs that compose it and in Theme B the Sahabat Laila song has 4 motifs and 2 pieces of question and answer sentences. The timbre for the Sahabat Laila song is Tenor which has a certain tone range. The Harmoni structure in the Sahabat Laila song has 2 harmony structures, namely vertical and horizontal. But in total, the harmony in the Sahabat Laila song is mostly vertical, to be precise forming chords.
