Abstract

Facing the Covid-19 pandemic is very frightening for everyone, including those in the field of education who have also been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The government's decision to move the face-to-face learning process to online (online) overwhelmed students, so students need to carry out a Coping Strategy to reduce pressures due to the problems they experience. This study uses 2 forms of coping strategies based on their function, namely Emotional Focused Coping (EFC) and Problem Focused Coping (PFC). This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The subjects of this study were UIR students. The number of subjects in this study were 366 subjects. The data collection tool used in this study was the coping strategy scale prepared by the researcher. The reliability coefficient used the Cronbach Alpha technique, which was 0.707 for the EFC scale while the PFC scale was 0.527. The results of this study indicate that the EFC students are in the medium category (41.66%) and the students' PFC results are in the moderate category (36.90%). The results of this study also showed that the Emotional Focused Coping based on gender was obtained by men 47.16% while women 39.13% were in the moderate category and Problem Focused Coping based on male gender was obtained 35.84% while women 37.39% in the medium category.
