Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes through the application of the Rotating Trio Exchange Learning Strategy (RTE) in mathematics learning in class VII.4 of SMP 26 Pekanbaru. The subjects in this study were students of class VII.4 SMP 26 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2018/2019 with 33 students consisting of 16 men and 17 women. This research was conducted on March 28, 2019 until May 2, 2019. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which had been carried out in two cycles. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out using observation techniques and learning achievement test techniques. Observations were analyzed descriptively qualitatively, while student learning outcomes were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed that there was an improvement in the learning process and an increase in student learning outcomes from the basic score to cycle I and from cycle I to cycle II. The number of students who completed the basic score of 2 people or 6% increased in daily tests I of 5 people or 15% and in daily tests II increased to 11 people or 33%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the Implementation of the Rotaying Trio Exchange Learning Strategy (RTE) can Improve Student Learning Outcomes in Class VII.4 of SMP 26 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2018/2019.
