Abstract

Crime in society is a phenomenon or "crime in society". Is part of the general economic system greatly influences social ties. The crime of theft is deviant behavior that violates the rules of the Criminal Code (KUHP). It has been regulated in article 362 of the Criminal Code to Article 367 of the Criminal Code. The offense of theft with violence that has been regulated in Article 365 of the Criminal Code which contains theft with threats of violence. This crime still occurs in the area of the Fifty Police Sector in Pekanbaru City. There are about 30 cases that have been handled by the police. With the emergence of this case, the writer is interested in further examining a scientific paper. The formulation of the problem in this study is what is the factor that causes the occurrence of violent theft in the jurisdiction of the Lima Puluh Police in Pekanbaru City. And how are the efforts to tackle the police of the Pekanbaru City Police Force against the crime of theft with violence. The author chooses the type of research sociologically, namely the author goes directly to the field in order to obtain primary data and secondary data. In collecting data, the writer interviewed several respondents, namely: head of criminal investigations, members of the police, and one of the perpetrators. From the results of the research that the authors get, there are several factors that cause the perpetrators to commit crimes, namely: economic factors, drug factors, environmental factors, educational factors, occupational factors. The countermeasures carried out by the police include pre-emtive, repressive and preventive measures. One of them is by giving an appeal to the community to always be careful, to carry out routine patrols, and to process criminals.
