Abstract

Utilization of Social Media in Digital Public Relations Activities in Improving the Image of the DPRD Riau Province Syarifah Namira Azzahra 189110125 This study aims to determine how the use of social media in digital public relations activities in improving the image of the DPRD Riau Province. This study focuses more on outlining the steps and forms of utilizing social media in improving the image of the Riau Provincial DPRD. This research method uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used in this study uses an interactive model which consists of three stages, namely data reduction (data reduction), data presentation (display), and conclusions (conclusions drowning/verifying). The subjects of this study were 4 public relations staff of the Riau Provincial DPRD who have credibility in managing social media and are the coordinators of each managed social media, namely the Web Coordinator, Instagram Coordinator, Youtube Coordinator, and Fanspage Coordinator. The results of this study indicate that the form of utilizing social media is to maximize the content posted on each managed media and each media has its function. On the Web, the news posted tends to be in the form of complete releases, on Instagram it is more for audiovisuals, photos, comments, and reels, on Fanspage the information posted is the same as on Instagram, while Youtube is only used as a live streaming medium at Plenary Meetings and other important meetings.
