Abstract
Agricultural products have perishable, the process of planting, growth, harvesting depends on climate, season, skills in cultivation, and yields have varying shapes and sizes, causing the management of agricultural products to be probabilistic, dynamic and prone to disturbances and risks. This study aims to analyze: (1) Characteristics of farming respondents and honey papaya cultivation profile in UPT UIR gardens. (2) Management of papaya farming (papaya cultivation technology, use of production factors, production costs, income and efficient honey papaya farming in UPT UIR gardens. (3) Sources of risk that occur in papaya honey farming in UPT UIR gardens. (4) The priority level of handling the risk of processing honey papaya in UPT UIR gardens. (5) Conditioning the risk control strategies of honey papaya farming in UPT UIR gardens. Survey method was used, a case study in garden UPT UIR located in Pangkalan Baru Village, Siak Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar Regency. The results showed that the average age of farmers was 46.27 years and the average land area was 3.25 ha and the average production was 428,400 Kg/arable land /Yr). An average selling price of Rp. 2,500, - while the average production costs are Rp. 381,466,733, -/arable land/year, the average net income was Rp689,533,267, - /arable land and average work family income was Rp. 690,736,250, - /arable land/year. By trying papaya honey farming more efficiently with an average of RCR was 2.81, this means that everyone rupiah spent to cost of production, farmers will get net income of Rp1,81. Based on the research, there were 37 potential risk sources, and priority risk in papaya farming farmers based on Risk Priority Number (RPN) and Risk Score Value (RSV), there were 12 priority risks that must be addressed immediately. Namely the source of risk with the values of RPN and RSV above the critical value of 39.45 and 11.45 respectively. There are 12 risks of failure which are critical risks, among others are fertilization is not carried out in accordance with SOP, spacing is not too close / far, picking papaya fruit by break the old stem so the product is damaged by harvest, unclear rainfall, too intensive / dry sun radiation , the time of payment is too long, limited farmer capital, high production costs, the absence of production and financial records, the level of farmers' knowledge of papaya cultivation is still low, lack of perseverance of farmers in maintaining papaya plants. Strategies that can be done by farmers were improve management and carry out cash flow records, carry out maintenance in accordance with the SOP, improve payment delay payment systems with a pre order system.
