Abstract

One of the problems faced by santri graduates was they have difficulty making career decisions due to inexperience and limited information on matters relating to their career world. The background of the education system taught in Islamic School is considered by some people to be less leading to the work environment than regular schools. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between group conformity toward career decision making among IKPM Gontor alumni. The populations were 65 alumni of IKPM Gontor which is residing at Pekanbaru city. All of them were sampled using census sampling technique. Data collecting used career decision making scale and group conformity scale, then the data obtained were analyzed by using product moment correlation Pearson analysis. Based on the results of the analysis of this study, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between group conformity toward career decision making among IKPM Gontor alumni. The higher of their group conformity, the higher their career decision making. The large contribution of group conformity with career decision making among IKPM Gontor alumni percentage by 36,5%.
