Abstract

This study was conducted in Dompet Dhuafa Riau because the Dompet Dhuafa Riau has received an award as the leading Riau Amil Zakat Institution from Bank Indonesia branch Riau in 2020, the Dompet Dhuafa itself has developed several empowerment programs in many regions in Indonesia, including in Riau province. For example, one of the empowerment programs founded by Dompet Dhuafa Riau is Roemah Jamur Alam Panjang. The problem formulation of the study is how the role of Dompet Dhuafa Riau in the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in Pekanbaru through productive zakat funds. While the aim of the study is to investigate the role of Dompet Dhuafa Riau in developing micro and small enterprises through productive zakat funds. The informants of the study consist of 4 people, they area leader of Dompet Dhuafa Riau, apersonnel in distribution division of Dompet Dhuafa Riau and 2 mustahiks. The data collection techniquesof the study are observation, interviews, and documentation.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Dompet Dhuafa Riau has a role in improving and developing micro and smallenterprises and it is very helpful in overcoming the problems that mustahik have such asthe substandard business orthe lack of business capital. The suggestion of the study isthat the Dompet Dhuafa Riau should expand fundraising throughout regions in Sumatra so that the more funds can be collected, the more people can be helped.
