Abstract
Mackerel crackers are one of the household industries that are characteristic of souvenirs in Moro subdistrict, but lack of management, simple technology becomes an obstacle in developing their business, therefore a business development strategy is carried out in order to be able to compete with other industries. This study aims to analyze: (1) characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profile of mackerel crackers, (2) Internal and external factors that affect the business development of mackerel crackers, (3) Business development strategy of mackerel crackers, (4) Conclude and establish alternative development strategies suitable to be applied to the business of mackerel crackers in developing their business. This research was conducted for 6 months starting from November 2020 to April 2021. This study uses survey method on Al-Abror Business. The data collected consists of primary and secondary data. Business characteristics and business profiles are analyzed descriptively qualitatively, SWOT and QSPM analysis are analyzed quantitatively. The results of this study show that employers and workers are classified as productive age 15-64 years. The level of education of employers S1 while workers 9-12 years or equivalent junior high and high chool. The number of dependents of the employer's family is 4 people while the workers are 3 people. Entrepreneur experience is less than 10 years. This business is included in the scale of households with a workforce of 10 people and didirikian since 2013 with its own capital without any financial institutions. The capital owned by Al-Abror Business is Rp. 15,000,000. Internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) namely the availability of raw materials, having a business license, labor comes from the surrounding environment, lack of control of raw materials, remote marketing locations, technology that is still simple. External factors (opportunities and threats) are: increasing employment opportunities, increasing revenue, substitution products, rising prices of raw materials and supporting materials, price competition. The results of the analysis on the SWOT matrix obtained coordinates (0.61 : 0.75) which are located in quadrant I (one) namely S-O strategy that is to maintain the quality, potential of SDA and HUMAN RESOURCES to improve products, optimize local government support in conducting product development through bazaar. This strategy shows a very favorable situation for businessmen of Al-Abror mackerel crackers. The priority strategy that can be done by al-Abror mackerel crackers business is to improve its business management with stas value of 6,710.
