Abstract
ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF TEACHERS PERSONALITY COMPETENCIES ON STUDENTS’ MORALS AT SMPN 4 SATU ATAP IN KABUN DISTRICT, ROKAN HULU REGENCY VINNY OLVIANITA 172410184 This study is motivated by the unaccepted morals of students which are increasingly worrying. It can be seen from the following signs: some students speak disrespectfully to their teachers, some students are picky about friends, some students outfits are not in accordance with Islamic law and some students ignore the advice of their teachers. A teacher is a component of education who plays an active and strategic role in facilitating the teaching and learning process at schools. Considering this important position in the teaching and learning process, the teachers must have various competencies in accordance with their duties and responsibilities. One of these competencies is personality competency, it means that each teacher should have a steady, stable, mature, wise, noble and authoritative personality, and can be a role model for the students. This study is conducted at SMPN 4 Satu Atap in Kabun District, Rokan Hulu Regency. This study aims to investigate the influence of teachers’ personality competencies on students’ morals. The sample of this study is all students of SMPN 4 Satu Atap in Kabun District, Rokan Hulu Regency, totaling 67 students. The type of this study is quantitative research with a correlation approach. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The obtained data are processed by using Simple Linear Regression analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that the value of fcount > ftable or 24.14 > 3.99, it means that there is a significant influence of the teachers’ personality competencies on the students’ morals at SMPN 4 Satu Atap in Kabun District, Rokan Hulu Regency. The alternative hypothesis is accepted (Ha), the level of influence is quite strong with data interpretation of 69.9%, so the influence is categorized as "high".
