Abstract

Morale is the drive that employees have from within to complete tasks and be serious about doing their jobs. In supporting morale, one of the influencing factors is compensation. Compensation is an award given to employees for the performance that has been given to the company. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a correlation between compensation and employee morale at PT. X. The population of this study is 100 employees of PT.X, using the saturated sample technique where the population is used as a sample so that the sample in this study amounted to 100 employees. The data collection method uses a scale where the researcher uses the used scale, namely by using the Compensation scale compiled (Oktiani, 2020) which is modified from the scale (Sahronia, 2015) with 12 items and using the morale scale compiled (Pangesti, 2016) with 44 item item. Analysis of this data using the Spearman rank order, it is known that there is a positive relationship between compensation and morale for PT.X employees. which is indicated by the correlation value (r) = 0.299 then the significance value of the two variables is 0.002 (p <0.05). Therefore, it shows the direction of a positive relationship that is in the same direction so that it can be interpreted that the higher the compensation, the higher the employee morale at PT. X and vice versa if the lower the compensation given, the lower the employee morale at PT.X
