Abstract

this study entitled The Effect of Cow Urine and NPK 16 : 16 : 16 Fertilizer on the Growth of Cacao Seeds (Theobroma cacao L. ) under the guidance of Mrs. Ir. Hj. T. Rosmawaty, M.Si. This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau. This research was carried out for 4 months, starting from March to June 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the main interaction and influence of cow urine and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth of cocoa plants. This study used a 2 factorial Completely Randomized Design. The first factor is cow urine 0, 50, 100, and 150 cc/L/polybag. The second factor was NPK 16:16:16 as much as 0, 6, 12 and 18 g/polybag so that 16 treatment combinations were obtained. Each treatment combination consisted of 3 replications, so that 48 experimental units were obtained. Parameters observed were increase in plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, widest leaf width, root volume and seedling dry weight. Observational data were statistically analyzed and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of cow urine and NPK 16:16:16 significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, widest leaf width, stem diameter, and seedling dry weight, but had no significant effect on root volume. The best treatment was found in cow urine 150 cc/L/polybag and NPK 16:16:16 as much as 18 g/polybag significantly on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, widest leaf width, and seedling dry weight. And not significantly different from the root volume.
