Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of independence that occurs in students of SMAN Siak Hulu Ksmpsr. One of the problems that exist in students of Islamic Religious Education is that learning independence is a process of careful design and self-monitoring of cognitive processes and is effective in completing academic tasks. The symptoms of learning creativity are: some students still often cheat on their friends' assignments while the teacher has given warnings not to cheat, some students are cool to chat with friends when the teacher explains while the teacher has reminded them to pay attention to the lesson, some students lack the initiative to ask questions. if there is material that is not understood while the teacher has invited students to be active in asking questions and some students are doing homework in class while the teacher has warned that the task is actually done at home. In overcoming this situation, the recitation method must be in accordance with the needs of the students of SMAN 3 Siak Hulu. This study aims to determine the effect of the Recitation method on learning independence in Islamic Religious Education at SMAN 3 Siak Hulu. This type of research is quantitative with a correlation approach. The study involved 153 populations, the way to collect data was using questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of data processing and data analysis carried out using the SPSS 22 program, it shows that the hypothesis of the effect of the recitation method on student learning independence can be accepted with a significance value of 0.000. This study shows that there is an effect of the recitation method on the learning independence of students in learning Islamic religious education at SMAN 3 Siak Hulu. The magnitude of the effect is 0.401 or 40.1% which is in the range of 400-599 with a medium category. It can be predicted that if the recitation method is improved, it will contribute to increasing learning independence by 0.599 or 59.9%. Vice versa, if the recitation method decreases, the learning independence will also decrease by 0.599 or 59.9%.
