Abstract

This research was motivated by lack of Al-Qur’an memorizing motivation at elementary school Al-Haramain Pekanbaru. The problem in Al-Qur’an memorizing motivation that was in students such as 1) did not reach daily memorizing target, 2) students did not focus when doing memorizing activity, 3) the collected memorizing did not clear/ not mutqin, 4) students did not do muraja’ah at home, 5) Syrah could not be tested because of students did not memorize well, 6) parents did not fill monitoring book. The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of parents role on students’ memorizing motivation at elementary school Al-Haramain Pekanbaru. This research used quantitative research with correlational approach. The population and sample was all students at elementary school Tahfizh Al- Haramain with 65 students. Data collection in this research by using questionnaire and documentation. This research consisted of two variables that was variable x (parents’ role) and variable y (students’ memorizing motivation). From hypothesis analysis result was known that rxy = 0.691 and r table in significant level 5% in 0.244. It meant that atau “ ” bigger than r table, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and approved, meanwhile nihil hypothesis (Ho) was rejected or not approved. The interpretation with determinant coefficient showed the contribution from independent variable (X) on dependent variable (Y) was in 47.75% meanwhile the others 47.75% was determined by others factors.
