Abstract
ABSTRACT DEDI ISAFIAH (154210223). Farming and Marketing Analysis of Honey Papaya in Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. Under the guidance of Mrs. Sisva Vaulina. S.P., M.P Tampan District is one of the honey papaya-producing districts in Pekanbaru City. This study aims to (1) determine the characteristics of farmers, collectors and retailers, (2) find out how the technical cultivation, use of production facilities, production costs, production, gross income, net income and farm efficiency, (3) find out how marketing institutions , marketing channels, marketing functions, marketing costs, marketing margins, marketing profits, farmer's share and marketing efficiency. This study uses a survey method which was conducted from November 2019 to April 2020. Data analysis used qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, as many as 20 farmers, 2 collectors and 9 retailers. The results showed that the average age of the farmer was 50 years, the level of education was 10 years, the experience of farming was 7 years and the number of dependents of the family was 3 people. The age of the collecting trader is 45 years, the education level is 9 years, the business experience is 6 years and the family dependents are 2 people, the retailer age is 42 years, the education level is 9 years, the business experience is 6 years, and the number of family dependents is 2 people. The average land area of farmers is 8,800 M2, the average use of production factors per hectare: 7 packs of seeds or 250 grams, 410 kg of manure, 140.50 kg of KCl fertilizer, 209.75 kg of ZA fertilizer, 140 TSP fertilizer, 50 kg, 7 packs of MSG pesticides, 3.90 liters of supracide and 4.75 packs of Furudan. The use of labor is 34.94 HOK. The average production of honey papaya corn per hectare is 9,755 Kg/Ha with a total farming cost of Rp. 15,805,386 /ha. Receipt of Rp. 33,975,000/Ha and a profit of Rp. 18,169,614.31 /Ha. RCR 2.15 means that the honey papaya business is efficient and feasible to develop. The marketing institutions involved in the marketing of honey papaya are farmers, collectors, retailers and consumers. Not all marketing agencies perform overall marketing functions. Farmer marketing functions include exchange functions, physical functions, marketing functions for collectors and retailers include: exchange functions, physical functions and facilities functions. The honey papaya marketing channel consists of 2 channels. Channel I: Farmers – collectors – retailers – consumers. Channel II: Farmers – Retailers – Consumers. Channel I marketing costs Rp. 238.89 and channel II Rp. 165.00/kg, the total marketing margin for channel I is IDR 1,406.11 and channel II is IDR. 1,846,11/kg, channel I marketing profit Rp. 2,525.00 and channel II Rp. 2011,11/kg. the value of marketing efficiency of marketing channel II is 3.00 and the value of efficiency of marketing channel I is 18.65, marketing channel II is more efficient than marketing channel I, the value of farmer's share in marketing pattern I is 57.92% and in marketing pattern II is 63, 43%.
