Abstract

This research aims to analyze the monitoring of drinking water quality by the Pekanbaru City Health Office, and the inhibiting factors faced by the Pekanbaru City Health Office in monitoring drinking water quality. This type of research is classified as descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population and sample of the study consisted of the Head of the Pekanbaru City Health Office and 3 Service staff who were determined by the purposive sampling technique; and 62 business managers of Refill Drinking Water Depots in 3 Subdistricts in Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, which were determined by the saturated sampling technique. Types and sources of research data are primary data and secondary data. Collecting data using questionnaire, interview, observation, and documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative data analysis. The conclusions of this research are: (1) The supervision carried out on the quality of drinking water by the Pekanbaru City Health Office is in the Implemented category. This is because in monitoring the quality of drinking water carried out at the Refill Drinking Water Depot business, the Pekanbaru City Health Office has set standards, carried out assessment actions and took corrective actions; and (2) The inhibiting factor faced by the Pekanbaru City Health Office in monitoring the quality of drinking water is the awareness factor of the management of the Refill Drinking Water Depot business in complying with the provisions regarding drinking water quality standards set by the government.
