Abstract

ANALYSIS OF THE TOR.TOR }ANCE IN THE TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE SERYICE OT THE COMMUNITY OF'MANI}AILING ORIGIN IN THtr CITY OF DURI BENGKALI DISTRICT RIAU PRO}TNCE DEMORA , L76714091 lVI.sn r024067801 ABSTRACT The purpose of this stud,v is to find out the anah,sis of the Tor-Tor Danse in the I'rad:itional Marriage Ceremony of the Mandailing Conrr"nunit-v in Duri City, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. This t1,pe of research is descriptive analysis method using non-interactive clr-ralitative data, narnely: the researcher is not involved and only as an independent observer. The data is obtained from primary data and secondary data, rvhich is derived from the original source and through data collection or data processing that is a documentation study. The results of the research for specific findings obtained by researchers based on the theory of Soedarsono (1998) namelv motion is the most irnportant lnedium in dance, music is the most important accompanirnent in a dance, floor design is the pattern that dancers cross, makeup is an important role in shaping facial etfects. dancers, tashion is a costume used on the dancer's body, lighting is a tool that can be used to illuminate a performance, stage setting is a support for dance performances that serves to create an afinosphere in the dance concept. in the analytical research conducted by researchers based on theory, researchers obtained the Tor-tor dance movements used in the traditional u,edding ceremony of the Mandailing community using sirnple movements with mov-ements using slor.v tempos, the music used using Gordang Sambilan, the floor design in this Tor-tor dance. triangurlar floor design consisting of three dancers and the dancers make changes in moticn, namely facing forward, right, left, back, then returning to the initial position, the make-up used by the bride is beautilul make-up, for the groorn only uses make-up. up natural, for the costumes worn by the bride and groom, namelv traditional Mandailing wedding clothes, on the lighting and stage in this traditional wedding ceremony, only bright neon lights and carpets are used as the stage setting. The general finding in this study is the analysis of the tor-tor dance in the traditional marriage ceremony of the rnandailing community in the city of thorn
