Abstract

ulty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, has carried out a research entitled " THE EFFECT OF GIVING DIFFERENT DOSES OF PROBIOTICS TO PASTE FEED MADE FROM GOLDEN SNAILS (Pomacea canaliculata) ON THE SURVIVAL AND GROWTH OF BAUNG FISH SEEDS (Hemibagrus nemurus)"Under the guidance of Mr. Dr. Ir. H. Agusnimar, M.Sc, as the supervisor. This research was carried out for 21 days starting on April 03-23, 2021 at the Fish Seed Center (BBI) Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of probiotics on gold snail paste feed and the best dose of probiotics on goldfish paste feed on the survival and growth of baung fish fry. The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications with P1 as a control, P2 2 ml/kg, P3 4 ml/kg, P4 6 ml/kg, P5 8 ml/kg. The baung fish seeds used had an average weight and length of 0.14 g/head and 2.5 cm/head. The container used is a plastic jar with a size of 10 L. The results of the study show that the survival rate of baung fish fry ranges from 70-100%. The highest weight growth was P3 with a weight of 0.50 g and the lowest was in P1 and P5 with a weight of 0.32 g. While the highest growth in length was at P3 with a length of 1.57 cm and the lowest was at P1 with a length of 1.10 cm. The highest daily growth rate was in treatment P3 of 2.37% and the lowest was in treatment P1 of 1.52%. The lowest feed conversion was in P3 with a total of 1.70 and the lowest was located in P1 with a total of 7.79. Water quality parameters are temperature 27o – 32o C, pH 6, Dissolved Oxygen 5.0 – 6.5 ppm, and Ammonia 0.83-2.31 ppm.
