Abstract

Language style is a method of applied language study which uses textual analysis to make discoveries about the structure and function of language (Simpson :1996). It means that style is a method which have structure uses on text such peom, novel, songs. Actually, on form those have style which have structure language is style. Style refers to the way in which language is used in a given context, a given person, a given purpose, message and so on. Style is able to describe expression which spoken written such poem, novel and songs. Style also as characteristics language and form structure language which both form each relation. In this study, the writer chooses “Avril Lavigne’s song�. This album chooses to be analyzed because it has some style of Language. The purposes of this study are to find style Language in it and to find the simple way to identify style language that is contained in songs lyric, especially Avril Lavigne’s songs. The research method was qualitative descriptive analysis. It means that this research does not calculate the data and just gives a description of the style language that is contained in Avril Lavigne ‘s songs. It is done by writing the songs lyric: classifying the style language, and the figurative language, and then giving reasons. The results of this research are to find style language (personification, metaphors, apostrophe, it can be used as a medium for a teacher in the learning process, and add knowledge about it. Besides that, we find the most style of language in it (personification)and find how to identify style of language.
