Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of biographical characteristics on the performance of the delivery department employees at the Post Office Jl. Jendral Sudirman Pekanbaru. The sample in this study amounted to 34 people using the census method. This study uses descriptive and quantitative methods that use primary data and secondary data obtained through a research questionnaire then tabulated and linked to the theoretical foundations in the literature review. Based on the results of simple linear regression analysis, it shows that the biographical characteristics variables have a positive and significant effect. The value of the correlation coefficient (R) indicates the closeness of the relationship between biographical characteristics on employee performance at the Post Office Jl. Jendral Sudirman Pekanbaru is in the strong category. The amount of contribution given by the determinant biographical characteristics variable (R ^ 2) was 0.465 or 46.5%, while the remaining 53.5% was influenced by other factors that were not included in the research model. It can be seen that the magnitude of the influence of other variables on the performance of the delivery staff at the post office Jl. Jendral Sudirman Pekanbaru amounted to 73.1%.
