Abstract
Classroom Action Research (PTK) was carried out in two cycles in class X IPS 1 students of SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru as many as 36 students, consisting of 18 boys and 18 girls, in Economics subject to basic concepts of Economics. This CAR aims to improve student learning outcomes. Student learning outcomes before action with KKM 60 obtained an average of 53.05. There were only 17 students who completed learning (47.22%) and 19 (52.77%) did not complete. In Cycle I, an average of 60.97% was obtained, 22 (61.11%) completed and 14 (38.88%) incomplete. In Cycle II the class average value was 80.13. Students who completed this learning were 30 (83.33%) and 6 (16.66%) did not complete. The use of the learner-centered discovery learning model makes students independent, critical and creative, uses the experiences students have and connects these experiences in learning activities. In addition, student learning outcomes can increase.
