Abstract

This study aims to find out how the relationship between students' interest in learning and biology learning outcomes for Class XI Science students at SMA Muhammadiyah 01 Pekanbaru in the 2020/2021 academic year. This research has been carried out at SMA Muhammadiyah 01 Academic Year 2020/2021 in March-April 2021. This research is a correlation study and data collection using questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The sample in this study was 132 students. The sampling technique in this study using simple random sampling was carried out randomly without regard to the strata members in the population. Data analysis in this study used the Pearson Product Moment Correlation technique. Based on the research of student interest in learning, the average value of all indicators of student interest in learning is 74.7% with good category. The indicators of feeling happy have an average of 80.87%, indicators of interest 70.23%, indicators of student attention 80.80% and indicators of student involvement 66.90% with the overall indicators of interest in learning included in the good category. While the learning outcomes that are in the very good category, the percentage value is 72.72%, for the good category it is 27.27% and the less good category is 0%. Based on the correlation test, there is a significant relationship between interest in learning and learning outcomes tcount (6.891) > ttable (1.978) in the category Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted with a correlation of 0.517 and a contribution of 26.7%. This shows that there is a significant relationship between interest in learning and learning outcomes for biology class XI science students at SMA Muhammadiyah 01 Pekanbaru in the 2020/2021 academic year.
