Abstract

As a tourist destination, Pekanbaru City must always make improvements and improve its service facilities, one of which is to develop special tourist transportation that serves the movement of tourists to tourist attractions in Pekanbaru City. Considering the development of the tourism industry in Pekanbaru City, it has become a serious concern for the Pekanbaru City Government. So public transportation is needed that can be integrated directly into every tourist destination as a booster for tourists visiting Pekanbaru City in order to increase tourist visits in Pekanbaru City. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative in determining what modes of public transportation are the needs of the community in achieving tourism objects and knowing the direction of Pekanbaru City government policies in planning public transportation in the future. Based on the results of the study, it is known that there are 12 tourist objects in the Tourism Strategic Area in Pekanbaru. Analysis of service coverage shows that all of these tourist objects have optimal reach but lack of available modes of transportation to each tourist attraction.
