Abstract

ZULPAN BUDIMAN (2021): Contribution of arm muscle power to the results of discus throwing at SMP Apit 01 Sungai Apit District The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of arm muscle power to the results of discus throwing at SMP Apit 01 Sungai Apit District. The type of this research is correlational, where the variables studied are arm muscle power and disc throwing results. The population in this study amounted to 52 students. The sampling technique uses random sampling. The number of samples is 32 students. The instruments of this study were tests using tests rejecting medicine balls and disc throwing tests. Based on the results of calculations that have been done, the researcher gets the value of r count is 0.360. The r table value at df = 30 at the error level of 5% is 0.339. The result of the comparison between the value of r count and the value of r table is the value of r count <r table value or 0.360> 0.339 meaning that there is a relationship of variable X to variable Y. Coefficient of determination is 13%. The conclusion in this study is that there is a contribution of arm muscle power to the ability to throw discs of male students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 01 Sungai Apit in Sungai Apit Subdistrict by 13%.
