Abstract

Nursery workers are a very important production factor for companies, therefore companies need to pay attention to workers' job satisfaction so that labor performance is maintained. The aims of the study were to analyze: 1) Personal characteristics of nursery workers at PT. Riau Andalan Pulp Paper (PT. RAPP), 2) The level of job satisfaction and performance of nursery workers at PT. Riau Andalan Pulp Paper (PT. RAPP), 3) The relationship between personal characteristics and job satisfaction with the performance of nursery workers at PT. Riau Andalan Pulp Paper (PT. RAPP). This research was conducted at PT. RAPP, Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province in the Pelalawan Sector. The sample selection was done purposively. Data was collected by conducting direct interviews using questionnaires and secondary data. The data analysis technique used in this research is correlation analysis. The results showed that: 1) The characteristics of the nursery workers of PT. 73.68% of RAPP are female, the age of nursery workers is dominated by 27-31 years at 36.84%. The education level of nursery workers ranging from elementary to high school equivalent, amounted to 92.11%, dominated by high school education equivalent. Work experience of education workers is between 4 to 18 years, an average of 2-5 years of work experience is 34.21% and the number of dependents of nursery workers is between 1 to 2 people with an average number of dependents of 1 person as much as 76.32%, 2 ) The level of job satisfaction of workers with respect to salaries is 3.65 which is included in the "satisfied" category, workers' job satisfaction with job promotions is 2.57 which is included in the "unsatisfied" category, workers' satisfaction with the work environment is 4.09 which is included in the the "Satisfied" category and the workers' job satisfaction with the leadership is 3.97 which is included in the "Satisfied" category. Labor performance in terms of technical accuracy of work is 4.08 which is included in the "Good" category, labor performance in terms of ability to manage work is 4.30 which is included in the "Very Good" category, labor performance in terms of work speed is 4.21 which is included in the "Very Good" category, labor performance in terms of timeliness of work was 4,228 which was included in the "Very Good" category. 3) The results of the analysis show that there is a close and significant relationship between the characteristics of workers (education and length of work) with the performance of workers at PT. RAPP. This means that the higher the level of education and work experience, the better the performance of the nursery workers. There is a close and significant relationship between workers' satisfaction with salary, job promotion, work environment and work leadership with the performance of workers at PT. RAPP. That is, the higher the satisfaction with salary, job promotion, work environment and work leadership, the better the performance of PT. RAPP.
