Abstract

PATIENCE IN TEACHING SLB TEACHERS IN PEKANBARU Wassy Suhada 168110140 FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY RIAU ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT Some people think that being an SLB teacher is an easy job but being a teacher and teaching at an SLB requires patience. This study aims to determine the description of patience in teaching SLB teachers. The subjects in this study were 81 SLB teachers in Pekanbaru. The data collection tool is in the form of a patience scale consisting of 25 items compiled by the researcher. The analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis and Chi-Square. The results showed that the patience of the SLB teachers was mostly in the moderate category, namely 33.3% or as many as 77 people. Based on gender, it is known that there is no significant difference in the frequency of each level of patience between male and female teachers with a Pearson chi-square = 3.284 with sig. = 0.511 (p>0.05). When viewed from the length of teaching, it is known that there is a significant difference in the frequency of each level of patience in teaching between teachers with teaching lengths of 1-10 years, 11-20 years, and 21-30 years with Pearson chi-square value = 28,129 with sig. = 0.000 (p<0.05) where teachers in the category of teaching length of 11-20 years are more in the very high and high category compared to the category of teaching length of 1-10 years and 21-30 years. When viewed from age, it is known that there is a significant difference in the frequency of each level of patience in teaching with a Pearson chi-square = 14,593 with sig. = 0.006 (p <0.05) where teachers aged 22-40 years tend to have patience in the high-very high category, while teachers in the 40-56 years age category tend to be in the low-very low category of patience.
